WELCOME TO THE APOSTLES' TESTIMONY OF THE SECOND COMING
Establishment and Growth of the
Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity
January 27, 1951 to 1959
So now we come to Section 4 which comprises the bulk of this book. Most of the major leaders in the church’s history joined in the early days of the 1950’s.
Life in Korea was very, very hard still. The Korean War did not end until July, 1953.
Rev. Moon and Won Pil Kim built a cardboard shack as a home and their first church.
Extreme poverty hampered all activities. But the spiritual life of many people will flourish under suffering and the Unification Movement began to grow, within a decade expanding to over 500 local churches.
The following 27 testimonies give abundant explanations of the spiritual experiences members were receiving and the challenging circumstances of their daily lives.
Opposition and persecution came from all sides, religious, political, and civil. Rev. Moon and some early followers faced jail again for months at a time.
Students and professors were expelled for not recanting their new faith.
Rather quickly, the number of churches spread and members were so filled with joy at the new truth that they automatically wanted to share it.
Soon a church was established in Seoul, the capital, and other nearby districts as well.
It defies your imagination to think that all this could occur without the involvement of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Testimony after testimony declares how they were intimately working in the lives of the members.
This Section 4 will be your favorite.
Surely you will find many inspirations, spiritual guidance, as well as real common grounds in faith with many of the speakers.
